Zaijian!

È praticamente impossibile riassumere in poche righe di ringraziamenti quello che è per me il significato di questa avventura di cinque mesi in Cina, ma ci proverò ugualmente per dimostrare la gratitudine verso tutte le persone coinvolte direttamente o indirettamente in questo progetto; amici e amiche che mi hanno aiutato, supportato, ispirato, dato idee sempre nuove per svolgere al meglio il mio lavoro con Agorà e per scrivere questo diario di viaggio, che spero sia piaciuto a tutti voi e vi abbia dato almeno una vaga idea della meraviglia infinita che è questo paese.

E allora cominciamo con i miei compagni di viaggio delle prime due settimane: Cecilia, Daniela, Luca e Manuele. Grazie di tutto, siete stati grandi, sempre presenti e disponibili anche dopo il ritorno a casa. Inutile dire che i giorni più belli del viaggio sono stati quelli in cui c’eravate anche voi!

Grazie al team CNR-PSC, a Francesca Messina, Patrizia Cecchetto, il mio amico ma soprattutto bassista Filippo Sozzi, Giovanni Filocamo, Alberto Ravazzolo, Filippo Novara, Luciano Marigo e tutto il resto dello staff: grazie per l’aiuto costante, l’amicizia, la simpatia e la disponibilità infinita.

Grazie a Manuela Arata, all’Associazione Festival della Scienza e allo staff al gran completo, in particolare a Raffa, Secs ed Emma per le ‘dritte’ su Pechino. Ci vediamo a Zena tra qualche giorno con la mostra sulle isole, e a tal proposito, grazie al mio amico e collega Paolo Degiovanni per aver tenuto in piedi la baracca mentre me ne andavo in giro per il mondo, ti devo almeno qualche pinta di birra per sdebitarmi!

Grazie ad Adriana Chen per l’amicizia, la simpatia, la disponibilità, le traduzioni, i cd e sostanzialmente per essere un mito, la migliore cinese di sempre! Vedrai che questi mesi in Italia voleranno e saranno divertentissimi!

Grazie al Prof. Paolo Sabbatini Rancidoro e all’Istituto Culturale Italiano di Shanghai per il supporto costante, la gentilezza e la disponibilità. Complimenti per la bellissima manifestazione sulla calligrafia e speriamo di vederci prossimamente a Praga, chissà che il Festival non arrivi pure lì! Grazie inoltre al Prof. Giorgio Casacchia per aver presenziato all’inaugurazione ad Hong Kou in rappresentanza dell’Istituto.

Grazie a Dionisio Cimarelli per il bellissimo libro con le tue opere, per essere venuto a trovarci e per la chiacchierata sui ‘massimi sistemi’ a Jing’An. Complimenti vivissimi, le tue sculture sono stupende. Grazie ad Andrea, il mio ‘compagno di gita’ a Badaling, per avermi fatto parlare in italiano per quasi un giorno intero, per le chiacchierate sui viaggi da fare in Cina e per la foto ‘asteriscata’ sulla Grande Muraglia, è venuta benissimo! Grazie a Marius, mio compagno di viaggio al ritorno da Pechino, e in bocca al lupo per tutti i tuoi progetti.

E ovviamente grazie a tutti i miei amici, alla mia famiglia, a tutti i lettori del blog e a tutti quelli che dall’Italia non mi hanno fatto sentire solo nemmeno per un secondo, anche se non ce n’era davvero bisogno! Grazie di cuore a tutti.

Now, let’s move to my greetings and thanks in English. First of all a big thank you to all the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology for your constant help and support. Thanks to Vicky Xiao, Nancy Lin, Wu Bao Wei, Chris, AiHua, Laura, Yuki Mao, Mr. Chang, Mrs. Wu, Mr. Chen and everyone else in SAST which has made such a great effort to make this exhibition work at its best in every occasion.

Thanks to my explainers team: Tim, many thanks for your help (especially in Jing’An) and all your good work. If not this year, I hope to see you in Genova soon! Thanks to Key, you’ve made an amazing job, man. Thanks to Matthew, Fiona (thank you for the moon cake!) and Gaby, for your friendship, for being there and making always a great effort for the exhibition. Thanks To Michael, Sarah, Haze and everyone else involved in the Shanghai training and exhibitions, I had great fun working with you all and I really long to see all of you again in the future.

Many thanks to all the workers involved in setting up, dismantling and moving the exhibition throughout these five months, your work has been truly appreciated. I promise if we will get to see each other again I will thank you in a much better way, using your beautiful mother tongue, which reflects the greatness and beauty of your amazing country.
